Getting started

Annula keeps your research in one place and a delegate that keeps it current. This page takes you from an empty workspace to your first goal. It takes about ten minutes.

Set up your workspace

1. Add your holdings. Import a CSV from your broker or type tickers and share counts. Annula prices them and builds your portfolio.
2. Write or paste a thesis. Open a company, choose Thesis, and paste your notes. The delegate splits them into assumptions you can check.
3. Set a goal. Try "Keep my Costco thesis current." Goals are where the delegate is allowed to work.
4. Choose an engine. Free: your own API key on the web, or Codex, Claude Code or a local model in the Mac app. Later: an optional hosted delegate, so you won't need a key.

Today

Today is the home screen. It says in one sentence whether anything changed, shows a ring for each holding, and lists the one or two decisions that need you. Answer a decision with a single key: A to accept, E to edit, S to snooze, X to decline.

Goals and rules

The delegate works only inside goals you set, and each goal has three lists of rules:

Change a rule in Activity, or ask in plain words: "Let the delegate add watchlist names under Flag threats."

Boards

Ask a question in the delegate or on Today, and it builds a board: a set of blocks, each marked calc, source, model or you. Numbers always come from calc blocks. Pin a board to keep it in the sidebar; follow-ups like "only primary sources" rebuild it.

Activity and undo

Every step the delegate or the system takes is logged with its time, cause, sources and gate. Anything the delegate did can be undone from Activity or from the card where it happened.

Privacy and security

On the web, your research lives in your Annula account, isolated from other users and encrypted at rest. In the Mac app you can keep it on your Mac only. Only the engine you choose sees your research, and only the parts it needs. You can export everything, including the activity log.
